Taekwondo has been a full Olympic sport since 2000, after appearing as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Games.
Two Chinese athletes won taekwondo gold in Athens 2004: Chen Zhong in the over-67kg category and Luo Wei in the under-67kg category.
At Beijing 2008, taekwondo runs from August 20–23 at the Beijing University of Science and Technology gymnasium.
