Beijing - Acrobats

It is claimed that the history of acrobatics in China dates back to the Neolithic period over 5,000 years ago where the demonstration of self-defence skills manifest into a performance art. A Chinese acrobatic show is a must when in the city and an important part of Beijing nightlife. There is no cultural or language barrier to the shows, young or old everyone can enjoy the spectacle. The programme for acrobatic shows will generally include contortionists, plate spinning, hoop-jumping and daredevil stunts through the air.

The two main acrobatics venues are listed below. The Chaoyang Theatre has performances every night at 17:15 – 18:15 and 19:15 – 20:30.
