Climate in China

Given China’s size and its varied landscape there is no one time in the year when weather is ideal in every part of China. The warmest areas in winter are to be found in the South and Southwest, such as Xishuangbanna in Yunnan, and Hainan Island.

Guangxi Province

The Guanxi Province, located at the Southern Coast of China has a diversity of nature, culture and adventure to offer, and is regarded as one of China’s most beautiful and imposing provinces. It is seized 236,000 square km and has nearly 46 million inhabitants. A mixture of China’s nationalities is found here as almost 75% of Guangxi is non-Han. Therefore a range of minority languages is spoken. Guangxi has a subtropical climate with hot but humid summers, with an average temperature of 28 oc and mild winters with an average temperature of 13 oc.

In case of Hangzhou, it means primarily the landscape surrounding the West Lake, which is a synonym for beauty and romance, as well as the subject of many literary works.

Hainan 海南

The Hainan province is located in the southernmost part of China. It is made up of an area of 34.000 square meters. The population of Hainan is around 7.4 Million and the capital is Hankou. The centre of Hainan is made up of various mountainous areas, various rivers and forests. As a matter of fact 50% of Hainan is covered in forest. The coastal areas have fabulous beaches with clear water, white sand and palm trees.

The city Qingdao, which is situated at China’s east coast, has nearly 8 million inhabitants. Being famous as an important spa area and being the third greatest harbor in the world, it will serve as excellent venue for the sailing competitions at Olympia 2008.

In the north of China, near to the inner Mongolia and a few hundreds kilometers away from Beijing, lies Datong, a small town from the province Shanxi, inhabited by 3 million people. Being rather small and covered by heavy layers of coal-and soot-blackened clouds, this industrial town that once during the Wei dynasty has served as capital and until some hundred years ago still as administrative town ...


The Ancient Village Chuandixia
