Henan’s population is the largest of all of the Chinese provinces.

The Yangshao culture and Longshan culture were in the North of the province.

The Shang-Dynasty is considered to be the first real dynasty of China. As the Shang-Dynasty had its origin in Henan, the province is regarded as the origin of China and its culture.
The famous
philosopher Laozi was born in this province.
